A Statement from the Abbotsford DPAC Chair

As we prepare for the October 1 All-Candidates Meeting, I want to pro-actively clarify the steps being taken to ensure a fair and impartial process. I believe transparency is important, particularly during an election.

To maintain a clear separation, I am not involved in contacting candidates, developing, selecting, reviewing, or receiving questions, moderating, timing, videotaping, or in any other aspect of the meeting where there could be a perception that I could influence factors that could advantage or disadvantage any candidate.

Questions about or for the event should go to support.dpac.sd34@gmail.com, which I do not access.

As part of my regular responsibilities as DPAC Chair, I have handled general event logistics, including securing the venue (though I did not choose the date) and posting the event information on the DPAC website. These tasks benefit all candidates equally.

I want to ensure that every candidate is treated fairly and that parents and members of the public have an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates about the issues that matter to them.
